Emily you have worked particularly hard at Enrich this year. You had to strive for accuracy and think flexibly to design a game using Atmosphir. I was impressed to see you use your ideas from Atmosphir to programme a game using Scratch. You had to apply past knowledge to new situations many times. The process you went through was complex and you recorded the process thoroughly. All the best for next year.

End of Year Reflection =(
Well, I guess this will be my final blog post...
This year has gone so quickly, it's hard to believe it's actually been a year at all!
I've achieved so many things, like how to blog, animate, make games, make and program robots, make new friends... The list goes on and on!
I've done my Passion Project (Making a 6 leveled game on Atmosphir and how it can link to a jungle maze game on Scratch.) and Talent Development (Making and Programming Robots.).
I think I have achieved my Habits of Mind goal, which was 'Questioning and Posing Problems'.
I think I have achieved this because I have posed a lot of problems, not only for myself, but for my peers as well!
I hope you have liked listening to my blog...
So...
See you later!

End of Keynote
FINALLY! These are the final pages of my Keynote. The first is about how I can share it with others, so I am going to teach my class back in St Theresas how to use Scratch. The second is a PMI on Atmosphir, showing good, bad and interesting. One bad thing is they don't have a lot of selection in themes. The third is a PMI of Scratch, again showing good, bad and interesting. One good thing is that you get to create your own characters and backgrounds. The fourth is a Venn Diagram of Scratch and Atmosphir. One thing that is the same on both applications is that you get to decide what goes into the game. The fifth is about the skills and habits of mind I have used. In both I have actually used a lot of maths! The last one says "THANKS FOR WATCHING!" But in this case, "THANKS FOR READING AND VIEWING!"
Scratch News
These are my currently updated Scratch levels. The first is the opening story, which tells you why Joe the monkey is in the forest. The second is the actual level, where you have to get to the finish, or you FAIL. There are no glitches and/or cheats in this level. The third is of the "Congratulations" screen, when you win. The level also has the option where you can pass, and it comes up with the fourth screen, which says "You Fail..." Try not to end up with that!
Keynote 4 pages
These are my new pages of my Keynote. the first is about 'Going Further', What I find interesting and what else I would like to know. The second is about reflection - making conclusions - what else I would like to know. The third is 'Sorting Out' or what I have found out so far. The last is my Resource Log, where I keep a record of my information and where I found it. Soon I will put up another four.

Reflection 9 Nov
Today was full of experimenting. I finished my Scratch game and found a way to export it onto an email.i have finished my Keynote. One thing I need to do next week is to see if I can set up a link from my blog to my Scratch game. Hopefully it will go well.Today I have used Metacognition, Striving for Accuracy and Persisting.
Keynote:3 new pages!
These are my next 3 pages of Passion Project Keynote. The first page is about my 'big question' and what parts of the programs I am using interests me. The second is about my 'tuning in' and I have a brainstorm of Atmosphir on it. The third is about gathering information from 2 or 3 different sources.
Scratch Update
Hey!
As you can see, the pictures above are of my Scratch Monkey Explorer Maze Game. I have updated it so it's totally Glitch free. There are no cheats for it, so you just have to play it the old fashioned way. TRUTHFULLY. At the start you have 50 lives, but I'm still trying to figure out a way so when you run out you loose/fail. I also have to find a way to export it. Maybe a link via email? I don't know. After that I'll be finished my Passion Project for good. Yay!
PMI - Scratch
This is my PMI about Scratch. It shows the good, not so good, and interesting things about it. For example, one of the best things about Scratch is that you get to create your own game with almost no boundaries. One of the worst things about Scratch is that it's sort of hard to program it. One of the most interesting things about Scratch is that you can change from one level to the other by simply programming it to say press 'b' and when you press it the background would change. Enjoy!

End of the day reflection
Hi Guys!
Today was really awesome. At 12, we took part in Emma's Master Chef Enrich and my team won the presentation part of it and got 2nd overall. I have got one more glitch on my Scratch game to clear up and I'll have finished it. I have already finished my Keynote. So after I finish Scratch, I'll be all finished. One more thing I need to do is to try and find a way to export my games.
See you later!

Update
Project Update
Hey Guys! I have just updated my Monkey Explorer Maze game, and now it looks really awesome. I have taken away a lot of enemies. You can't touch the opposing wild life, or the deep water, so it makes it a little bit hard, but it's possible to pass. You are allowed to touch the shallow water, the red tongues and the yellow beaks, but not the brown snakes and birds, or the deep water. You have 3 lives. Bye!
Passion Project: Scratch Maze Game
Hi Guys!
As you can see, I have updated my Scratch Maze Game. I have added many enemies that spring out at you. When you start the game, the monkey will ask you to press the space bar. When you do, all the opposing wild life will try to capture you. It's basically a booby trap! If you touch the wild life, you are sprung back to the start. Your monkey can't swim either, so if you touch the darker shades, again, you appear back to the start. Have fun!

Passion Project Half Way Mark
Hi Everyone! This post is my half way mark for my Passion Project. Just to let you know, my Passion Project is about Atmosphir, a game design application and Scratch, a game programming application. So, I'm going to see if the two can somehow link together. This is my 'Monkey Explorer Maze Game'. The first Picture below is of George the Monkey, who has to venture through the jungle maze to get to the end. The second picture is of the end of the game, the third the middle and the fourth the start. There are still a few glitches, but I'm working on them. It's actually really hard to program a game! Hope you like it!

Passion Project Reflection
Hey guys! This is my Passion Project Reflection, which I'm doing on Atmosphir. Atmosphir is awesome and heaps of fun, but I think I like it more because it's fun, and easy to do. It has been very easy doing the first 3 levels, but it gets more challenging as you enter the harder levels. You start running out of ideas because the Atmosphir I use does not have a wide range of options, unlike the Online version. I think Atmosphir would be a game you'd play in your spare time, because it hasn't got a lot of thinking involved in it. It's true that you have to think of a route from start to finish, but after that it all design and fun.I like Atmosphir, but i think I have now reached its limits.

Passion Project Progress Update
Hey Guys! These 3 Pictures above are of level 2. I just finished it. The 1st picture is of the end. There's a ramp you have to go up and platforms you have to jump on to get to the finish line. Just be sure not to fall off, otherwise you'll find yourself in Quicksand! The 2nd Picture is of the rap where you land after flying over the gap. The 3rd is of the start, where you have to run up and down ramps. So, that's level 2. Hope you get to play it soon!
TVNZ6 Net Guide Awards Disappointment
Hi Guys!
Last week I emailed TVNZ6 Net Guide awards to try to get into the Video Game Design category. The thing was, it was only open to Secondary and Intermediate students! This is the form I filled out:
Name: Emily Morris
Email: emily@enrich.net.nz
School: St Theresas and Enrich@ILT
Question: How come the Best Video Game is only open to Secondary and Intermediate Students? I'm a primary Student, so why can't I enter? I'm already making Video Games!

And this is what they sent back:
Hello Emily,
Thank you for your email and your questions regarding this year's Challenge and specifically the age category of the Video Game Design entry. I'm sorry for the disappointment however for 2011 this entry category is only open for Intermediate and Secondary students. In saying that for future challenges we will be reviewing this entry criteria (as we've had similiar emails). Again we apologise that we cannot change anything for this year however changes will be made going forward.
Kind regards
NetGuide Team
It's good that they will change it next year, however I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get to enter. I hope you will change it next year so even more children will get to enter.

Passion Project Progress
Hey Guys! I thought you might want to see how my passion project is going, so here it is! What you're looking at is an original, beach themed game. These 2 levels were fairly easy to create, because it's so simple, but there's still a massive range of options. When I created my first level, it seemed fairly hard. So I changed it to level 3. The first 2 pictures are of the new level 3, while the bottom shot is of the new level 1. I have recently created level 2, so you should see it soon. I also tested the game on several different people, so I am fairly confident that most people will like my game. In my first picture I'm adding some bonus points you can collect on you're journey. In that level you have to collect 10000 points to keep going. The second and third pictures shows my first level, you have to collect 2500 points to go through. Hope you enjoy it!

Talent evaluation feedback
Emily, you have shown amazing persistence throughout your talent development, not just with the building of complex robots but how you had to strive for accuracy when writing your own programmes.
I was impressed with how your group built and programmed two advanced robots. This was an outstanding effort and it was great to see your skills and knowledge grow and develop throughout your talent development.
You made some good links with systems and robotics, do you think there are any systems within systems in the robots?
Are you now going to build on these skills and knowledge build a more complex robot? I can't wait to see if you can programme the robot to speak.

Robotics Evaluation
This is my Robotics Evaluation during Enrich, Term 2.
Me and my friends, Alexa and Helene, constructed Taz
the Fourth. He is a Robo Puppy. He took ages to make.
Our other Robot was a Domabot. His name was Doodle.
We named him that because he had a pen attachment and
we programmed him to draw. It took days to make it.
Enjoy!
